CHRISTOPHER HANLON® is a contemporary Australian Artist who studied Graphic Design at Enmore (Randwick) and Fashion Design at the acclaimed East Sydney Technical College. HANLON® designed the concept (and logo) for his brand in his final year of Design College and registered it as a Trademark® in 1994. Christopher sold his first products at Paddington Markets (‘photocopied label phase’) and a designer store called Bibelot (located next to the markets) on Oxford Street Paddington, in 1994. The brand was featured in VOGUE Australia by Beauty Editor Jane Druker. By 1995, the brand aligned officially with department store Myer, launching nationwide and subsequently into David Jones, with a 1997-9 rollout plan. HANLON® opened a prototype store at the Argyle Centre in The Rocks early 2000 (today called CLELAND BOND stores, Playfair Street). By mid-2000s a fully fledged concept store at The Strand Arcade opened with fellow Australian Designers Alex Perry, Akira, Sweet Art, Zappacosta, Andrew McDonald, Jason Brunsdon and The Shoe Queen Terry Biviano. By 2015, another flagship had opened – on George Street Sydney Australia – selling a comprehensive range of artisan crafted: Perfumes, Organic Skincare and Australian Leather Bags (near Dior and Louis Vuitton). The brand was an early adopter of the internet. It garnered a matrix of underground influencers who helped transform the niche brand into an international presence. Notable media celebrities who remain notoriously private include MADONNA, NICOLE KIDMAN and KYLIE MINOGUE. Today Christopher Hanlon® continues to supply clients and collectors both locally and internationally. Delivering door-to-door to 200+ countries.
